Dear Friend: We are pleased to share with you that William B. Brown will address the ICAS Fall Symposium on October 14 2011 in Washington DC. Bill Brown is Senior Advisor to the National Intelligence Managers for East Asia and North Korea in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, McLean, Virginia. Bill is retired from the civil service where he worked for many years as an economist and intelligence analyst on East Asia - primarily on China and North Korea -in the CIA, the Commerce Department, and the National Intelligence Council. He grew up in Kwangju, South Korea, as the son and grandson of Presbyterian missionaries in Korea and China. Bill earned his B.A. in International Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and his M.A. in Economics and Chinese studies from Washington University in St. Louis. He served in the US Embassy in Seoul in the mid-1980s and as Director of Plans and Policy and Research in Virginia’s World Trade Department in the late 1980s. Bill has taught graduate courses in East Asian and international economics for many years as an adjunct professor in George Mason and George Washington Universities. He lives with his wife and four children in Herndon, Virginia. Thank you. |
