Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and mathematics from Wellesley College and a Master of Arts in economics from Harvard University, with concentrations in finance and macroeconomic theory. From 1991 to 2001, she served on the Governor's Economic Council, advising three Massachusetts governors on public policy and economic development and chairing the Governor's Task Force on Tax Policy and Capital Formation through 1999. In November 2002, Sara was appointed to Governor Mitt Romney's Transition Steering Committee and served on the subcommittee on jobs and the economy. Sara is a member of the Boston Economic Club and a past president of the Boston Association of Business Economists, a regional chapter of the National Association for Business Economics. She is president of The New York Collegium, a Baroque-period orchestra and chorus. Sara also serves on the Board of Overseers and the Audit and Compliance Committee of Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
