Most recently he was in the advisory panel of UNDP Human Development Report and a contributor to the First UNESCO World Culture Report. He has published over 15 books, including Growth Pole Strategy and Regional Development Policy, Asia and Pacific Economy Towards Year 2000, Global Adjustment and Future of Asia-Pacific Economy, Modelling Global Change, Globalization and the World of Large Cities, China's Sustainable Development Framework.
