J. J. Ong
J.J. Ong is a Professional Staff Member on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, U.S. House of Representatives.
Since February 2009, J.J. has been responsible for the East Asia portfolio for the Democratic staff of the
House Foreign Affairs Committee and reports to Chairman Howard L. Berman (D-California). He has over seven
years of experience working on Asian issues in the U.S. government. Prior to government service, J.J. was a
senior analyst and manager with the Corporate Executive Board, a research consulting firm in Washington, D.C.
that provides corporate strategy and management analysis to Fortune 500 companies. J.J. holds a master’s degree
in Asian Studies and is a fluent Mandarin speaker.
