Bonnie B C Oh, ICAS Fellow

We are pleased to share with you that Bonnie B C Oh has been named ICAS Fellow, effective immediately.
Bonnie B.C. Oh is the Distinguished Professor of Korean Studies at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, the University’s Main Campus Ombuds Officer, and the past director of Women’s Studies at Georgetown University.
Professor Oh has written extensively on issues relating to not only Korea but the wider Northeast Asia region. She is the author/co-editor of East Meets West, Comfort Women of World War II (2001), and a forthcoming, Korea Under the American Military Government, 1945-1948. Her articles, essays, and book reviews in both Korean and English have appeared as book chapters and in refereed journals including the Journal of Asian Studies, American Historical Review, and Korea Journal. Bonnie is the author of "China" in the Compton’s Encyclopedia and "Korea" in World Book Encyclopedia.
She has served as the Book Review editor for the Journal of Asian Studies and as President of the Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA). Bonnie served as assistant dean at the University of Maryland at College Park and at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and associate professors of history at Loyola University of Chicago. She was educated at Law College of Seoul National University, Barnard College (Columbia University), Georgetown University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Chicago.
