We are pleased to share with you that Charles Ou will address on "Managing Your Main-street Business in the New Economy: Winning Strategy for Small Business Owners" at the ICAS Summer Symposium 2006: The Korean Diaspora which will be held on August 5, 2006 at Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

Charles Ou is a senior economist with the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Economic Research. Charles has been with Advocacy since 1978. Before joining SBA, he taught economics at Wake Forest University, the University of Dayton, Ohio, and Queens College of Charlotte, N.C. (as an associate professor and the department chair for 1977-78). Charles has B.A. degree in economics from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His specialties are capital and credit markets in the United States, the financial aspects of small business issues, and economic development. Charles has done an extensive work on small business capital access issues, including development of databases for financial research. His writing has been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Small Business Economics, and the Journal of Entrepreneurial Finances. Charles is the principal writer of the financing chapter of the State of Small Business report(s) and the Small Business Economy, as well as many other reports published by the Office of Advocacy. He currently serves on the editorial board of two professional small business journals.
