ICAS Travel Grant 2009
Dear Friend:
We are pleased to share with you that Jamie Kim (ICAS Volunteer);
Rising 11th grader, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Alexandria,
Virginia) was awarded the ICAS Travel Grant 2009 at the
ICAS Dinner held
yesterday in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania for her paper on "Issues on Stem Cells Research and Nanotechonology"
(work in progress).
The ICAS Travel Grant 2009 will support her to experience the
"Summer Study Away 09" in Oakland, California where she will participate in the
"The Challenge of Liberty Summer Seminar for Students", sponsored by the Indepenent
Institute, beginning August 10, 2009 for one week.
She also will be a guest at the home of David & Mary Theroux, President and Vice President of the Institute,
during her study.
Jamie is a member of the ICAS Youth Excellence Program
and was a Winner Qualifier 2008 of the ICAS Youth Fellowship Award
Contest Invitational 2008.
