Michael E Scullin

We are pleased to share with you that Michael E. Scullin was named ICAS Fellow as of June 11, 2010.
Michael Scullin is Counsel to McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP and Honorary Consul of
France in Philadelphia and Wilmington. Michael has handled a broad variety of commercial,
nonprofit and international matters, including establishment of U.S. entities by
foreign nationals, related immigration matters, transnational litigation, intellectual
property issues and negotiation and drafting of international sales, distribution,
joint development and licensing contracts. He is Immediate Past Chair of the International
Law Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association and established the Attorney Exchange
Program with the bar of Lyon, France.
Michael acted as a legal advisor in corporate and financial transactions in Geneva. He served as CEO of a foundation
supporting cancer research and treatment, creating an international network of foundations, and previously Michael
was executive director of one of the largest global law firm consortiums, Multilaw, based in London.
He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Penn State University/Dickinson, where Michael was Associate Editor
of the Law Review. He was appointed to a clerkship with the United States Court
of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Michael later earned a Diploma in Advanced International
Legal Studies at the McGeorge School of Law in Salzburg. He is an Adjunct Professor
at Temple University's Fox School of Business and Management, teaching International
Law and Cyberlaw, and a guest lecturer at Arcadia University's MBA program, on International
Labor and Employment Discrimination.
Michael is the Vice-president of the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia. He is an honorary citizen of
Chollabok-do, Korea. Michael has served on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations, including
the French-American Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Contemporary Art. He
is a current or former member of the Union Internationale des Avocats, the International
Bar Association, the American Bar Association and various other international organizations.
Michael was a featured speaker at the ICAS 1997 Chonju Symposium
and delivered remarks on "Korea's Globalization and International Law".
