Andrew G. Berg
Biographic Sketch

Andrew Berg has an undergraduate degree in applied math from Harvard College and a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT. He has worked as a consultant to Poland and Russia with Professor Jeffrey Sachs from 1989 through 1993, as lead economist and head of the Mexico Task Force at the U. S. Treasury during the Mexican peso crisis, and in the research department of the International Monetary Fund. He has published articles in a variety of professional journals on, inter alia, the economics of transition, the use of early warning systems for predicting currency crises, and dollarization. Since February 2000 he has been DAS for Latin America and East Asia at the U. S. Treasury.
