Biographic Sketch After her mid-career switch to the law, she served as law clerk to two federal judges on the U.S. District Court for Maryland: the Honorable Paul V. Niemeyer, who is now a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals (Second Circuit) and the Honorable Peter J. Messitte, U.S.District Judge for Maryland. Before re-joining Judge Messitte as his permanent law clerk, Helen worked for five years as an associate in the Washington office of the international law firm of Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue- doing antitrust law in the health care field. Helen-Louise Hunter is presently retired from the U.S. Government, concentrating on the publication of several other books. Praeger is about to publish her book on the Indonesian Coup of l965, also written while she was at C.I.A. She is doing a little law work and is active in various organizations dealing with Korean issues.
